“HEDGEHOG’S TALES” deck is designed specifically for work with children, teenagers and adults who like the opportunity to be lost in the world of childhood, fantasy, creativity and storytelling.

Deck structure: the deck comprises 60 cards, conventionally divided into four categories. The categories are ambiguous, and cards may be transferred from one category to another at your own discretion. The categories are marked with different colors of card backs.

Violet back defines “Heroes” category. These creatures are story’s central figures. Besides, this category also includes Friends, Enemies and Other Creatures that the Principal Character meets in the course of unraveling of the plot.

Blue back defines “Hero`s Entourage” category. Entourage is his origin, accessories owned by the Hero, artifacts, and magic items that were presented to him by other characters, or that were found, won, or chosen by him, as well as other Hero`s property.

Green back involves “Actions” category. These cards demonstrate that characters perform some actions that are integrated into the story.

The fourth category featuring red-orange back means “Interaction”. Each Interactions card depicts minimum two members, who interact with each other somehow and have some relations with each other.

Description

“HEDGEHOG’S TALES” deck belongs to a large family of metaphoric association cards. It is designed specifically for work with children, teenagers and adults who like the opportunity to be lost in the world of childhood, fantasy, creativity and storytelling.

World-famous artist Eugene (Joseph) Larionov creates pictures for children and adults. His characters are often funny and thoughtful, tricky and sad, philosophically minded and inclinable to naughtiness, all at once. This feature of Larionov`s painting is especially important for their use as associative cards other than their liveliness and attractiveness; projective component of such a card is greatly enhanced, and psychologists working with these cards can acquire large amounts of information about client’s emotional state, his desires, aspirations, and conflicts. Being talented in many areas, Eugene Larionov uses his artistic professionalism and psychological education that help him to create bright, rich, rather expressive images that cause a strong emotional response.

You should keep in mind that it is not necessary to consider a card literally. For example, if you draw a card depicting a cat, it may not be the main character of your story. The main character may be the Owner of a cat or a Dog that loved cats all its life, or vice versa, a Dog that declared war against cats, or a Tiger acting as a Mega-Cat, or a Mouse that is afraid of cats (in this case your fairy tale may be devoted to war against fears, for example).

Blue back defines “Hero`s Entourage” category. Entourage is his origin, accessories owned by the Hero, artifacts, and magic items that were presented to him by other characters, or that were found, won, or chosen by him, as well as other Hero`s property. When you choose an Entourage card in order to integrate it into the plot, you may associate the available mentioning of Hero`s origin and properties with previous acting Hero, or you may introduce a new Character who possesses the accessories mentioned on a card.

Green back involves “Actions” category. These cards demonstrate that characters perform some actions that are integrated into the story.

The fourth category featuring red-orange back means “Interaction”. Each Interactions card depicts minimum two members, who interact with each other somehow and have some relations with each other.

It’s my favourite associative cards deck. I use it at work, in a school, and with my own children at home.
