The “Little Pleasures” deck is designed to work with emotional states – it is dedicated to gaining support in everyday life, supporting a positive outlook on the world, finding new ways to warm relations, body comfort and happiness at heart. The deck consists of 48 images, on the back of which there is one of the ways to feel joy and pleasure is mentioned. Half of the proposed methods relates to purely sensual pleasures-visual (pleasures for the eyes), auditory (pleasures for the ears) or kinesthetic (pleasures for the body), the other half relates to the situations of a person’s activity (the pleasure of action) or his/her interactions with others (the pleasure of interaction) . Backs of the cards show the category a card belongs to and invite to imagine, try this or that pleasure. Of course, you should not take these words literally: Letterings are a trampoline for your imagination, and they will tell you what other, associatively similar actions this or that idea can be turned.
Variants of the deal (picture up):
۞ Pull out the card and turn it over. Would you enjoy the action mentioned? When was the last time you did something like this? What determines the possibility of doing this? Can you do it at all? Pull out 2 other cards and ask the same questions. Choose one card, the action of which you want to implement the most, and do it. If the action is not possible, creatively transform the recorded action into an associatively close one that you can do. Basing on the picture
۞ Pull out 5 cards. One is you today, two are your goal and its hidden aspects, and both of them are what will help you get to the goal. Turn over the last two cards and ask yourself how these words are hinting you where to find sources of support.
۞ Pull out 2 cards pictures up. The first is a problem that occupies your mind.
The second is the desired situation, when the problem is already solved. Describe these cards. Then pull out 2 more cards without looking at them. The third card will answer the question “how to get there”, and the fourth – “what will help on the way to the desired situation”.
۞ In a group: Give the participants an equal quantity of cards. Each participant will choose a card he/she likes most and tell the group where and when he/she has done the action (or the like) written on the card. You can specify the context Tell us about the happiest event of your life, about the most amazing event, about the event that happened to you only once in your life, etc.
Variants of the attitude to traumatic experience correction
At the first stage of this work it is necessary to represent the situation of a psychological trauma with the help of one or several cards. You can use the cards from «Little pleasures» deck (pictures), or decks «Trauma» or «The Dark Side». You can use one card representing the nature of the traumatic situation or several cards telling the story or representing different aspects of the situation.
At the second stage, you can choose one of the following correction options:
۞ Pull out 5 cards from different categories (pictures down). Turn over the cards and interpret them: What resources are present on the cards? How can these resources help you? Basing on the cards, think of 5 variants of different resources that you can successfully use to solve your problem or alleviate your state of mind.
۞ Choose a counterpart picture of your problem card-situation/ What distinguishes them qualitatively? Now pull out 3 cards and turn them the words to you. This is a bridge between the situations. In the interaction find a personal meaning between these words and the situations they associate. Give yourself an advice based on your findings.
۞ Choose an opened card that “hooked” you.. This card will serve as a door to your past to a situation where you had the resource you need at the moment. In your imagination, go there and find the resource you need. Take as much as you can, then go back to “here-and-now” and cover the card-situation with a resource card. Look at the cards combined and pay attention to the sensations that you are feeling in your body. If after 10 minutes you still have uncomfortable feelings, repeat the procedure with another resource, and so on until you succeed.
۞ Pull out 3 random cards. These are the messages from your own mind, heart and body to your consciousness. Look at the cards on both sides, try to combine these messages into one subsequent, and draw conclusions about what will be the best for you as a result from the situation in question.
۞ Pull out two cards of different colors and turn them over. These pictures symbolize those resources that were at your disposal (either at the disposal of the family or its individual members, if we consider family and transgenerational traumas) at the time of the crisis in question.
Determine which resources are symbolized by the selected cards and tell about them.
In the process of interpretation, associate the picture with the type of resource it relates (not with the inscription on the card but with the type of the resource – visual, auditory, kinesthetic, the resource of action or interaction. Then pull out two more cards from different resource categories. These cards will indicate the resources that you have now, that had appeared after a traumatic situation. Generate associations, again, according to the type of resource the card belongs. After realizing what resources you possess now, make conclusions about how they will help you ultimately to live out the past and get rid of this burden in the future. Choose an open card that symbolizes your life healed from this trauma.
